Candidate for City Council in Northampton’s 7th Ward.

About

As a life-long (moderate) republican, Sue is running for City Council in Northampton to provide a balanced perspective, and insight from a long professional career spent re-engineering organizations going through turbulent times. She is socially libertarian, but financially cautious. Right now, the federal government is wreaking havoc across the country, and Northampton needs to be smart and data-driven to survive these upcoming years. If elected, Sue can provide that perspective.

Sue believes that, in times like these, we need to come together to build strong and resilient local communities. She is embarrassed and concerned about the actions of her party at the federal level, and wants to use her expertise to help Northampton get through these years.

Bio

As mentioned above, Sue is now retired after a long, successful career re-engineering organizations that needed to address a turbulent environment: mostly in health care, but a few for-profit organizations and a municipality (Belmont) along the way. She has a master’s degree from Harvard University in Health Policy and Management, as well as certifications in IT, Business Analytics, and Disaster Recovery. She has worked with both sides of the political spectrum in the past, and held numerous elected and appointed municipal government roles. Currently, she works part-time for OneHolyokeCDC, a Holyoke-based affordable housing non-profit, as an Accounting Data & Record support specialist.
All of this experience makes her well-poised to address the challenges that Northampton will surely face in these upcoming years.

“We must, indeed all hang together, or, most assuredly, we shall all hang separately.”
